Lot 176:
Description
A twelve-piece mid-century modern wooden salad service set attributed to Woodcroftery. The collection is constructed from turned wood with a medium-brown stain and visible natural grain. The set includes a large footed master bowl with three tapered peg feet, eight individual salad bowls, a wooden serving spoon, a three-tine wooden serving fork, and a condiment shaker. The shaker is topped with a silver-tone metal lid and a screw-top adjustment knob. This set is characteristic of the woodenware designs produced in the United States during the mid-20th century. No maker marks or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces of the items.
Condition report:
The set is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and typical use. Light scuffing is present on the tips of the serving utensils. The metal top of the shaker shows evidence of light surface oxidation. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are evident from the images.
