Description
A Longaberger Founder’s Market Basket, item number 18791, accompanied by its original presentation box and promotional literature. The rectangular basket is constructed of handwoven maple wood slats and features a braided rim detail. Two flat swinging wood handles are attached to the sides with copper-toned rivets. A leather strip embossed with the name Longaberger is affixed to the upper rim. The lot includes a fitted solid wood lid and a clear plastic protector liner. The original cardboard presentation box is printed with a stylized A and the text A HANDWOVEN TRIBUTE TO HIS LIFE. Included promotional literature identifies the piece as a special May 2000 offering.
Condition report:
The basket and its components appear to be in excellent condition. There are no visible breaks or splits to the woven slats or handles. The wooden lid shows no signs of warping or scratching. The plastic liner is clear and free of cracks. The promotional materials are well-preserved. The original presentation box exhibits minor shelf wear and light scuffing consistent with age and storage.
