Description
A collection of vintage glazed ceramic novelty salt and pepper shakers featuring various Las Vegas souvenir designs. The group includes several sets of shakers. One pair is modeled as whimsical figures wearing white top hats and bow ties, featuring printed text that reads Fabulous / WE HAVE NO DRINKING PROBLEM IN LAS VEGAS / WE DRINK, WE GET DRUNK, WE FALL DOWN / NO PROBLEM. / Las Vegas. A second pair is shaped like white chickens with red combs and yellow accents, with Las Vegas written in script on their sides. A third pair is modeled as boots decorated with a rainbow and dice graphic above the block letters LAS VEGAS. The shakers are constructed from glazed earthenware with a combination of transfer-printed text and hand-painted colorful details. No manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior of the items.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition showing signs of age and use. Observable wear includes minor surface scratches and light age-related discoloration to the white glaze. Small chips are present on the edges of the top hat figures. Some pieces exhibit fine crazing consistent with the material and age.
