OVAL CERAMIC PHEASANT BOX
Description
Glazed earthenware lidded box featuring a high-relief molded and hand-painted scene of ring-necked pheasants in flight. The exterior sides are decorated with a brown and tan speckled glaze.
Condition report:
No visible chips, cracks, or repairs (photos 1, 2, 3). Minor surface wear is present on the hand-painted highlights of the relief-molded lid (photo 1). Small firing pinholes typical of earthenware manufacture are visible in the glaze (photo 2).
