Description
A three-dimensional nautical relief sculpture by Watts Salamy, constructed from shaped and stained wood components within an integrated shadow box frame. The composition features a multi-masted sailing ship with sails crafted from natural grain wood slices, stylized waves, and three gulls in flight, finished with a high-gloss clear coat. Handwritten signature Watts Salamy is located on the reverse right edge.
Condition report:
The work is in good vintage condition with dust accumulation in the intricate recesses of the relief. Minor surface scuffs and small nicks are present along the outer edges and corners of the shadow box frame, and the high-gloss finish shows fine surface scratches commensurate with age. The metal hanging chain on the reverse shows minor oxidation.
