Description
A Nylint Sylvania GTE 18-Wheeler tractor-trailer set, model No. 912S, complete with its original open-front display box. This set features a white cab-over-engine tractor authorized by General Motors and a matching white trailer. The construction consists primarily of pressed steel with plastic components used for the tires, windshield, wind deflector, and decorative accessory parts. The cab is detailed with blue horizontal stripes and a GTE logo on the doors. The trailer features large blue side panels with bold white Sylvania text and a rear-mounted GTE logo. The tires are molded with raised white lettering that reads Nylint. Functional elements include an adjustable trailer parking gear and a roll-up rear trailer door. The packaging includes the statement Nylint America’s finest steel toys since 1946 and lists various safety and design features.
Condition report:
The truck and trailer are in excellent, well-preserved condition. The white paint remains bright and the blue decals are crisp and intact. There is minor surface dust consistent with age. The plastic wind deflector shows light yellowing. A small amount of residue is visible on the passenger-side chrome-finished fuel tank. The original box shows moderate shelf wear including creasing, corner blunting, and areas of surface staining and discoloration, though the cardboard remains structurally intact.
