Description

This is a vintage cast iron skillet attributed to the Lodge Manufacturing Company, as indicated by its characteristic three-notch heat ring design. The pan is a size No. 8, identified by the numeral 8 incised on the underside at the 9 o’clock position relative to the handle. The base features a raised heat ring with distinct notches located at the 9, 12, and 3 o’clock positions. A small, indistinct molder’s mark is visible on the heat ring near the 6 o’clock position. The skillet is designed with two pour spouts and a teardrop-shaped handle. The interior cooking surface features the smooth, machined finish common in mid-century cast iron cookware. The absence of a “MADE IN USA” stamp suggests a production date between the 1940s and the early 1960s, consistent with the accompanying label attributing it to the 1950s.

Condition report:

The skillet is in good vintage condition with a dark, well-developed seasoned patina throughout. The interior cooking surface exhibits minor wear consistent with age and use but remains relatively smooth. The exterior and base show expected carbon buildup and surface oxidation. No cracks, chips, or significant pitting were observed during visual inspection.
