Lot 36:
Sold for: $10
Description
This lot consists of three pieces of vintage American pressed glass, characteristic of the Depression era. The first item is a pedestal candy dish or compote featuring a bicolor Amberina-style aesthetic, with a translucent ruby red stem and a golden-yellow amber bowl and base. The bowl is designed with a beaded rim and a faceted diamond-patterned underside, while the foot features a sunburst motif and scalloped edge. The second item is a round amber glass bowl decorated with a starburst and oval pattern. The design includes large oval medallions with stylized sunburst motifs surrounding a central bottom star, complemented by a decoratively scalloped rim. The third item is a flared, fan-shaped amber vase. It is embellished with beaded vertical lines forming a chevron or zipper motif on the body, set upon a circular base with a distinct spiral-ribbed or swirl design. No maker marks or signatures were observed on any of the pieces.
Compote: 5.5 inches height, 6 inches diameter
Bowl: 3 inches height, 8.5 inches diameter
Vase: 7.5 inches height, 7 inches width.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition. Minor manufacturing inclusions such as small air bubbles (seeds) and occasional dark specks are present within the glass, consistent with mid-century pressed glass production. There is light surface dust and minor shelf wear on the undersides of the bases. No chips, cracks, or repairs were detected upon visual inspection.
