Description
This commemorative plaque from the Lladró Collectors Society is crafted from matte white bisque porcelain. It features a high-relief sculpture of the literary figure Don Quixote, depicted in a seated, contemplative pose in a high-backed chair with an open book on his lap and a rapier resting by his side. The front of the plaque displays the molded text LLADRÓ and COLLECTORS SOCIETY, below which are three hand-applied signatures in black ink belonging to the company founders Juan, José, and Vicente Lladró. The reverse side of the piece is decorated with a molded, radiating shell pattern. The plaque is designed with a curved, triangular footprint for independent standing. The base features a blue printed factory mark including the bell-flower logo, LLADRÓ, HAND MADE IN SPAIN, and copyright DAISA 1985. Faint incised marks including D-10 and M are also present on the underside.
Condition report:
The plaque is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or evidence of professional repair. Minor surface soiling and shelf-wear are present on the base and along the upper edge, which is typical for unglazed bisque porcelain.
