Description

Attributed to Ertl, this is a promotional horse-drawn petroleum tanker wagon coin bank featuring branding for The Texas Company. The tanker and wagon chassis are constructed of die-cast metal, while the horses, wheels, and driver canopy are composed of molded plastic. The silver-painted cylindrical tank features a coin slot on the top and black text on the sides within a red-bordered box that reads THE TEXAS COMPANY. Petroleum and its Products. The black wagon frame is decorated with a red five-pointed star on the forward side panels. The rear cabinet features paper or adhesive labels for Texaco Motor Oils on the left side and Crystalite Kerosene on the right side. The wagon is drawn by a pair of black draft horses connected to the wagon by a plastic harness and tongue assembly. The black wheels feature red-painted center hubs and are designed to roll freely. This item was commonly produced as a limited edition promotional collectible in the early 1990s.

Condition report:

The item is in excellent condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and display. The paint and decals are well-preserved with no significant loss or fading. The wheels and horse assembly are functional and intact. There is no original box or packaging present.
