Description
This figural still bank depicts a boy in blue overalls riding a tan pig. The item is manufactured from two-part cast iron joined by a single flat-head screw on the reverse. The figure is rendered with dark skin tones, wearing blue overalls with white buttons and red-painted lips. The pig is painted tan with black hash marks detailing the coat and features a vertical coin slot located on the upper rear of the animal. This design is consistent with early 20th-century American manufacturers such as A.C. Williams or Hubley. No maker marks or patent numbers are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The bank is in good vintage condition showing significant paint wear and scattered chipping throughout. Paint loss is most notable on the figure\'s head and the pig\'s back and snout. The casting displays prominent vertical mold seams. There are no observed cracks, breaks, or repairs to the iron. The screw on the reverse appears to be period-correct.
