Description
A vintage electric boudoir lamp designed in the Victorian hurricane style. The lamp is constructed from white opaque milk glass and features a two-part body consisting of a flared pedestal base and a bulbous font. Both sections are decorated with hand-painted botanical motifs of green and brown ivy leaves and trailing vines, accented with a thin gold-painted rim at the base. The lamp is fitted with a brass-toned metal socket and a pierced crown gallery intended to hold a glass shade or chimney. The unit is wired with a vintage-style electric cord. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible on the glass or metal components.
Condition report:
The milk glass body and hand-painted decorations are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant paint loss. The metal socket and crown gallery exhibit significant surface oxidation, tarnish, and rust consistent with age. The lamp is missing its original glass chimney or shade.
