Description
This is a decorative ceramic butter churn designed in a farmhouse style. The item consists of a tapered cylindrical jar, a fitted lid with a central opening, and a wooden plunger known as a dasher, which features a cross-shaped base. The churn is made of cream-colored glazed earthenware. The front of the vessel is decorated with an embossed relief of two geese. These geese include hand-painted accents such as green bows, yellow beaks, and yellow-orange feet. The interior of the jar is glazed. There are no visible maker marks, stamps, or labels on the underside or body of the piece.
Condition report:
The item is in fair condition and shows signs of wear and damage. There is a prominent chip on the exterior edge of the top rim. A fine hairline crack is visible on the lower section of the jar\'s body. Minor surface scuffs are present on the glaze, along with small areas of paint loss on the decorative goose elements.
