Description
A two-piece pressed glass covered dish manufactured by the Fenton Art Glass Company. The lid is molded in the form of a seated hen featuring detailed feathering on the body and tail. The matching base consists of an oval bowl with a scalloped, flared rim and vertical ribbing on the exterior. Both pieces feature a multi-color iridescent carnival glass finish over a dark amethyst base glass, displaying a spectrum of purple, blue, gold, and green tones. The underside of the base contains an embossed maker mark consisting of the Fenton script logo within an oval, with the number 9 positioned directly below the name, indicating the piece was produced during the 1990s. The interior of the base and lid shows the dark pressed glass color.
Condition report:
This item is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is minor, age-appropriate shelf wear on the bottom contact rim of the base.
