Description
This white milk glass covered dish is a hen on nest design attributed to Westmoreland. The item consists of two pieces of opaque white milk glass. The lid is molded in the shape of a seated hen with detailed feathering on the body and wings. The comb and eyes are finished with cold-painted red accents. The base is an oval bowl featuring a molded basket-weave pattern on the exterior and a beaded rim. The underside of the base displays a molded, raised cross-shaped mark in the center.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or visible repairs to the milk glass. The cold-painted red accents on the hen show minor thinning and wear, which is typical for decorative items of this age and type.
