Description
This lot features a two-piece covered dish in the form of a nesting hen, produced by the Westmoreland Glass Company in opaque white milk glass. The lid is molded into the shape of a hen with detailed feathering throughout the body and tail. The comb, wattle, and eyes are finished with red cold-painted accents. The base of the dish displays a molded basketweave pattern and is bordered by a distinct beaded rim.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. There is visible wear and loss to the red cold paint on the hen\'s head. Minor surface soil and darkened debris are present within the recessed molded details of the feathers and the basketweave pattern. No chips, cracks, or restorations were observed upon visual inspection.
