Description
This two-piece covered novelty dish is crafted from opaque white milk glass in the Hen on Nest pattern, a form commonly attributed to the Westmoreland Glass Company. The lid is molded into the figure of a nesting hen with detailed, textured plumage and features black-painted eyes. Stylized red floral motifs, resembling roses, are applied as accents on the body of the hen and around the wide, scalloped rim of the base. The base is oval with a smooth interior. No manufacturer marks are visible on the underside or interior of the piece.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a visible accumulation of dust and surface grime in the recessed areas of the molded feathering on the lid. The red floral accents appear intact with no significant wear or loss.
