6.27.26 HEN ON NEST - ONE OWNER COLLECTION
Lot 114:
Description
A mid-century covered glass dish produced by the Westmoreland Glass Company in opaque turquoise blue milk glass. The set consists of two interlocking pieces. The lid is molded into the figure of a bird perched on a nest, featuring detailed pressed textures representing feathers and woven nesting material. The bottom bowl section forms the lower half of the nest and sits atop a flared pedestal base decorated with stylized leaf and branch designs. An embossed monogram mark consisting of a W superimposed over a G is visible on the interior of the lid. The underside of the base is embossed with the manufacturer name WESTMORELAND arranged in a semi-circle around a central WG monogram mark. This combination of marks indicates a production date from the mid-20th century.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks, or significant surface scratches observed in the provided images. Visible mold seams and minor variations in the opaque color are characteristic of the pressed glass manufacturing process and are not considered damage.
