Description
A decorative wild turkey tail fan mount featuring multiple layers of barred wild turkey feathers arranged in a semi-circular spread. The base of the fan is secured within a brown leather sheath. The face of the leather mount is decorated with hand-tooled motifs including a central strutting turkey figure flanked by two stylized pine trees. Ten brass-toned metal studs are positioned along the curved upper edge of the leather. A dark horsehair tassel, consistent with a turkey beard, is suspended from the bottom center. The reverse side shows the feather quills held in place by yellow-colored stitching.
Condition report:
The item is in good condition. The plumage is well-preserved with minimal fraying or loss. The leather sheath shows light surface wear and natural variations in color. All decorative metal studs are present and secure.
