Description
This lot comprises a diverse collection of fishing tackle and related sporting ephemera. The assembly includes a modern baitcasting reel marked Abu Garcia and Revo S with a noted gear ratio of 6.4:1. This reel is mounted on a rod featuring a label inscribed HEARTLAND-S and the tagline Tradition Quality Technology. The rod is constructed with a cork handle, foam foregrip, and a dark finished blank. Also included is an assortment of various fishing lures, featuring several plugs in yellow and black and white patterns, metal spoons, a spotted frog-style lure, and a red and white plastic bobber. Completing the lot are several vintage Ohio resident fishing licenses from the mid-20th century, with dates including 1946 and 1948 visible on the paper inserts. These licenses are presented in a variety of holders, including plastic-faced sleeves and one metal frame embossed with FISHING LICENSE and STATE OF OHIO above a state-shaped cutout.
Condition report:
The collection exhibits signs of use and age throughout. The rod and reel show moderate surface wear and dust consistent with field use. The fishing lures are presented in a tangled state, with many showing oxidation, rust to the hooks, and significant paint loss or chipping. The paper licenses are aged with expected yellowing, and the vintage license holders show surface scuffs and oxidation to the metal components.
