Description
A collection of eleven vintage elephant-themed ceramic and porcelain figurines and containers. The assortment features various artistic styles ranging from realistic models to whimsical anthropomorphic figures. Included is one large off-white glazed elephant figurine with a raised trunk and textured hide. One container is a bright yellow glazed ceramic planter in the form of an elephant head with a circular aperture. One figurine is an anthropomorphic yellow elephant featuring pink-lined ears, a floral garland, and a floral-adorned hat. The remaining eight pieces consist of smaller figurines in tan, white, yellow, and dark brown glazes. Four figurines are detailed with gold luster accents on the ears and trunks. One white figurine features pink ears and hand-painted facial details. One dark brown figurine is modeled with white tusks and textured skin. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the displayed surfaces. The designs are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century decorative ceramics often associated with American and Japanese manufacture.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition. Minor surface wear and small areas of paint loss are present on several of the smaller figurines. The high-gloss glazes on the planter and larger elephant figurine may exhibit fine crazing upon close inspection. No significant chips, cracks, or professional repairs are visible.
