Description
This lot features three molded glass objects of United States origin, each centered on an elephant theme. The first item is a small slag glass vessel, commonly used as a toothpick holder, shaped like a seated elephant with a trunk that forms a loop handle. It is crafted from marbled glass with swirls of dark brown, slate gray, and tan. The flared upper portion of the vessel features a molded beaded or pebbled exterior texture. The second item is a children’s carnival glass mug featuring a green base glass with a vivid iridescent finish. The handle is modeled as an elephant’s head and trunk. The cylindrical body is divided into molded panels depicting various nursery rhymes in relief, including Jack and Jill, Hey Diddle Diddle, and Mary Had a Little Lamb. This specific pattern is attributed to the Imperial Glass Company. The third item is a solid slag glass figurine of a seated elephant with a raised, curled trunk, characterized by caramel and cream marbled coloration.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition. The carnival glass mug maintains strong iridescent luster throughout. No chips, cracks, or structural repairs were observed upon visual inspection of the three pieces. Minor surface wear and typical internal striations and mold seams consistent with vintage pressed glass production are present.
