Description

A 1/24 scale radio-controlled model of the number 28 Havoline Ford Thunderbird NASCAR stock car, manufactured by New Bright Industrial Co., Ltd. The car is constructed of molded plastic and features the black, red, and yellow livery associated with driver Davey Allison, including sponsor decals for Texaco, Goodyear, DieHard, Moog, and others. The set includes a wireless pistol-grip radio control transmitter operating at a frequency of 27.145 MHz. The transmitter features a control wheel for steering and a trigger for throttle. According to the packaging, the car features forward drive and turning in reverse functions. The item is housed in its original illustrated window display box with a custom-fitted white styrofoam interior. The box is marked as model No. 342-1. The vehicle requires two AA alkaline batteries and the transmitter requires one 9V battery, which are not included.


Condition report:

The car and transmitter appear to be in unused condition, secured within the original factory packaging. The vehicle’s decals and paint finish are bright and intact. The original box exhibits moderate shelf wear, including creasing along the edges and corners, minor surface tears, and scuffing to the clear plastic window. A vintage retail price tag from Montgomery Ward is present on the upper right corner of the box. The internal styrofoam insert is intact. The electronic functions have not been tested.
