Description
A collection of vintage novelty salt and pepper shakers designed in the form of various produce. The pieces are constructed from glazed ceramic with hand-painted decoration. Included in the group are shakers modeled as red apples, carrots, tomatoes, peas in pods, onions within a molded mesh-textured bag, green bell peppers, red bell peppers, potatoes, bok choy, zucchini, and pumpkins. A single black letter P is visible on the side of one napa cabbage-shaped shaker. Each shaker features multiple dispense holes at the top and circular openings on the underside for stoppers.
Condition report:
Overall good vintage condition. The pieces exhibit minor surface wear, small scattered paint losses, and areas of fine glaze crazing consistent with age and use.
