5.28.26 MAY ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 67:
Description
Attributed to Fenton, these two yellow opalescent art glass items are composed of uranium-content glass, commonly referred to as Vaseline glass, which displays a bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. The group includes a basket and a vase. The basket features a molded hobnail pattern on the lower exterior, a wide opalescent ruffled rim, and an applied colorless glass handle. The vase is designed with a tiered bulbous base and a matching broad, opalescent ruffled rim. These items are characteristic of mid-20th-century American art glass production. No manufacturer marks are visible on either object.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good overall condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs are evident. Minor manufacturing irregularities and light shelf wear to the bases consistent with age may be present.
