A vintage large-format tremolo harmonica manufactured by Andreas Koch in Wuerttemberg, Germany. The instrument features nickel-plated metal cover plates fastened over a wooden comb. The top cover plate is heavily embossed with decorative floral motifs, scrollwork, and circular sound holes. The central embossing reads: ANDS KOCH’S FAMOUS GIANT HARMONICA TUNED IN 4 DIFFERENT KEYS MADE IN WUERTTEMBERG. The ends of the wooden comb are decorated with white-filled incised scrollwork. The harmonica is accompanied by its original two-piece yellow and white cardboard slipcase. The case features a multi-color lithographed label with a portrait of Andreas Koch, a circular stag trade mark, and promotional text in both German and English, identifying the instrument as a Standard of Excellence and world-renowned mouth harmonica.

Condition report:

The harmonica is in fair to good vintage condition. The metal cover plates show significant surface oxidation, pitting, and wear to the nickel plating consistent with age and use. The wooden comb appears stable. The cardboard slipcase shows shelf wear, edge rubbing, and minor staining. A small section of the paper label is missing on the right side. There is a handwritten notation in ink on the outer yellow sleeve reading 257 / LLT.
