Description
This is a piece of pressed carnival glass produced by the Fenton Art Glass Company. The bowl is made from dark amethyst glass with a multi-color iridescent finish that displays metallic highlights of gold, green, blue, and purple. The interior features the Three Poppies pattern, consisting of three embossed poppy blossoms surrounded by scrolling foliage against a stippled background. The exterior of the bowl is finished with wide vertical ribbing that leads to a deep, hand-shaped ruffled rim. The base is a molded oval with a radial starburst design. An embossed oval maker mark with the name Fenton in script is located in the center of the base, indicating the piece was manufactured in the 1970s or later.
Condition report:
The bowl is in excellent condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or signs of repair. The iridescent surface remains bright and consistent without notable wear or loss to the coating.
