Description

An assortment of decorative metalware featuring various bell designs and stands, primarily of cast brass construction. The collection includes a large figural bell suspended from a highly ornate foliate arch stand; the bell body features a raised relief band with the Latin inscription VOCEM MEAM AUDIT QUI ME TANGIT and embossed animal figures including elephants. This piece is accompanied by a horseshoe shaped pendant attached via a brass chain. Also included is a small bell suspended from a stand cast in the form of a stylized dragon or serpent atop a tiered circular base. The collection contains a tri-lobed openwork stand with a central conical bell and side hooks for additional attachments. A cloisonne enamel bell is present, featuring a dark green ground with a floral pattern of pink and white blossoms within gold toned wire cells, finished with a scalloped rim and a gold colored hanging ribbon. Additionally, there is a pair of heavy walled cast bells with embossed scrollwork motifs connected by a multicolored braided textile cord, and a small loose conical bell.

Condition report:

The items are in good overall condition. There is visible surface tarnish, oxidation, and varying degrees of patina across the brass pieces consistent with age and display. The horseshoe pendant on the large arch bell is currently detached from the frame but remains present on its chain. The cloisonne enamel is well preserved with no significant chips or losses observed. The textile cord shows minor wear and fraying.
