Description
A shield-shaped highway route sign commemorating Arizona US Route 66. The sign is constructed of die-cut metal with a white and black finish, resembling porcelain enamel on steel. The design features a bold black border with the word ARIZONA at the top, U S in the center, and the number 66 at the bottom. Three brass-toned mounting grommets are installed at the top center and the side points. The reverse side is finished in plain white.
Condition report:
The sign is in good overall condition with visible signs of wear and age. There is a significant area of finish loss with underlying oxidation on the right-hand edge. The white field on both the front and reverse displays scattered black spotting and minor surface scuffing. The brass-toned grommets show light tarnishing.
