Description
A two-piece miniature figural covered dish in the form of a hen on a nest, crafted from translucent peach-toned pressed glass. The lid is molded in the shape of a nesting hen featuring relief-molded tail feathers, wings, and a comb. The base is designed with a basketweave texture on the exterior and a scalloped, decorative rim. Both the lid and base exhibit a distinctive stippled or pebbled texture throughout the glass. Items of this type were traditionally used as individual salt cellars or small trinket containers and are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century American novelty glassware. No maker’s marks or factory stamps are visible on either the lid or the base.
Condition report:
Excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to either piece.
