5.28.26 MAY ANTIQUE & GLASS AUCTION
Lot 222:
Description
This lot features a collection of vintage decorative glass pieces from the mid-20th century, including examples of carnival and pressed glass. Included is a large emerald green glass pedestal vase with a wide flared rim and a bulbous mid-section, characteristic of mid-century modern design. A second vessel is a lime green pressed glass tumbler or small vase featuring a repeating geometric pattern of starbursts and diamond motifs. The collection also contains a cobalt blue carnival glass compote with a heavy iridescent finish showing purple and gold highlights. This piece features a Whirling Star pattern with a ruffled sawtooth rim and a pedestal base. An illegible mark is present within a small rectangular area on the underside of the base. Completing the lot is a marigold carnival glass dish molded into the shape of a leaf with detailed veins and a stem-form handle, consistent with mid-century production.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are visible upon inspection. The glass shows minor surface wear consistent with age and typical use. The iridescent finishes on the carnival glass pieces remain vibrant. A small white fragment, appearing to be a sticker remnant or debris, is present on the interior of the cobalt blue compote.
