Description
This collection features an assortment of vintage decorative glass objects, including several toothpick holders and a whimsey. One piece is a footed toothpick holder crafted from opaque tan glass, possibly slag glass, featuring a scalloped base and stylized foliate relief patterns leading to a flared ruffled rim. Another item is a transparent amber glass toothpick holder with a basketweave pattern body and rope-textured accents on the rim and base. The collection also includes an amberina glass top hat whimsey in the Daisy and Button pattern; this item retains its original black and gold foil label identifying it as handmade by Old Virginia Glass, which was a subsidiary of the Fenton Art Glass Company. Additionally, the collection contains an iridescent marigold carnival glass toothpick holder featuring geometric starbursts set within arched panels and a scalloped rim, attributed to Imperial Glass.
Condition report:
The opaque tan glass toothpick holder exhibits notable surface crazing throughout the body and rim. The remaining items in the collection are in good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and use. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs are observed on the amber, amberina, or carnival glass pieces.
